"Instead of comparing our lot with that of those who are more fortunate than we are, we should compare it with the lot of the great majority of our fellow men. It then appears that we are among the privileged." - Helen Keller

Transformed
"To be transformed into the character of Christ, we must know His character, love His obedience to the will of the Father, and begin, step by step, day by day to walk the same pathway" ~Elisabeth Elliot

I Have a Shelter - Sovereign Grace
I have a shelter in the storm
When troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood
My soul can rest securely
O Jesus, I will hide in You
My place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love
That comforts all my sorrows
I have a shelter in the storm
When all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt
Your grace will not refuse me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
Who bore my condemnation
I find my refuge in Your wounds
For there I find salvation
I have a shelter in the storm
When constant winds would break me
For in my weakness, I have learned
Your strength will not forsake me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
The One who bears my burdens
With faithful hands that cannot fail
You’ll bring me home to heaven
When troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood
My soul can rest securely
O Jesus, I will hide in You
My place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love
That comforts all my sorrows
I have a shelter in the storm
When all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt
Your grace will not refuse me
O Jesus, I will hide in You

The Love of God
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.
O love of God, how rich and pure, how measureless and strong;
It shall for evermore endure, the Saints’ and Angels’ song.

Hold your head high
Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye. - Helen Keller
No ifs, ands, or buts!
"Making excuses is always a waste of time because God is completely aware of who we are and what we can and cannot do. When God calls us, He not only equips us but empowers us to obey that calling." -Mary Southerland

The Missionary Heart
"The missionary heart: Care more than some think is wise. Risk more than some think is safe. Dream more than some think is practical. Expect more than some think is possible. I was called not to comfort or success but to obedience….There is no joy outside of knowing Jesus and serving him."

Seeing the good in the bad...
And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.

The world is our field...

Character

Missions
"As long as there are millions destitute of the Word of God and knowledge of Jesus Christ, it will be impossible for me to devote my time and energy to those who have both."
- J.L. Ewen
Okay, so I agree and disagree with this quote. I love that it shows dedication to the spreading of the gospel. However, I think that serving the Church is also a great ministry. I think maybe he means that his calling is for the world though and that he cannot stay stagnant.

Sacrifices

May God hold you in His palm...
“If I had not felt certain that every additional trial was ordered by infinite love and mercy, I could not have survived my accumulated suffering” - Adoniram Judson (Missionary to Burma)

Give All
"If I am afraid to speak the truth, lest I lose affection, or lest the one concerned should say, "You do not understand," or because I fear to lose my reputation for kindness; if I put my own good name before the other's highest good, then I know nothing of Calvary love" ~Amy Carmichael

What Grace is Mine
What grace is mine, that He who dwells in endless light
Called through the night to find my distant soul.
And from his scars poured mercy that would plead for me
That I might live and in his name be known.
So I will go wherever He is calling me;
I lose my life to find my life in Him.
I give my all to gain the hope that never dies;
I bow my heart, take up my cross, and follow Him.
What grace is mine, to know His breath alive in me;
Beneath his wings my wakened soul may soar.
All fear can flee for death's dark night is overcome;
My Saviour lives and reigns forevermore.
So I will go wherever He is calling me;
I lose my life to find my life in Him.
I give my all to gain the hope that never dies;
I bow my heart, take up my cross, and follow Him.
So I will go wherever He is calling me;
I lose my life to find my life in Him.
I give my all to gain the hope that never dies;
I bow my heart, take up my cross, and follow Him.

Passion for Thee
"Let us dare to test God's resources...Let us ask Him to kindle in us and keep aflame that passion for the impossible that shall make us delight in it with Him, till the day when shall see it transformed into a fact." - Lilias Trotter
